Why shins become sore
Repeated contact between the shin and a firm boot tongue can concentrate pressure in one area, especially during forward flex.
Start with boot fit
Protective sleeves are not a replacement for correctly fitted boots. Persistent pain, numbness or circulation issues should be discussed with a qualified boot fitter or healthcare professional.
Keep layers smooth
Avoid folds, bunching and multiple thick layers inside the boot. Wear the guards over smooth ski socks and check the position before fastening.
Respond to discomfort
Stop and adjust if you experience pinching, numbness or unusual pain. Do not keep skiing through symptoms that could indicate poor fit or injury.
